The pawn was actually very useful for my friend There was this match where only had a bishop that goes in black tiles and a pawn and the king. My friend had 3 attackers. The rook. The bishop and another rook. I was with all my pieces blocking the king to go and defending all each other. But the king was stuck in only one tile and if i had one more attacker it was checkmate. (The queen) and i was so close for the pawn to become the queen with my king protecting it. But his other pawn was defending the tile i was gonna protect in the 2nd last tile. So if i moved the king where the pawn is supposed to be protected. Check. And if i move my pawn to the 2nd last tile. The king would kill it. So then my friend got a 4th attacker with the pawn. (The queen) and then boom. Checkmate
